  3. Our Vision The establishment of an excellent and sustainable healthcare system, especially in North East Sri Lanka by advancing the clinical, research, infrastructure and educational aspects of medical and allied health service

  4. Our Mission To provide medical care, rebuild healthcare infrastructure, external support, generate financial aid and develop local expertise while fostering strong links with similar institutions at national and international levels towards achieving our vision

  5. AMAF Projects since May 2009 • Acute Health Care unit Manik Farm(July 2009). • Primary Health Care Teams- Assistance provided to outreach programs. Purchase of medicines for the outreach program run by the Ramakrishna Mission Batticoloa (from May 2009). • Building of semi-permanent ward to accommodate internally displaced patients at Chavakachcheri Hospital (June 2009).

  6. Providing medical care for IDP’s in the Eastern province through Ramakrishna Mission

AMAF Projects post May 2009 ctd-: • Healthcare of Geriatric population released from IDP camps to Mannar District (July 2009). • Funded the re –designing and installation of the centralized air conditioning unit in the Surgical ICU in Jaffna • Provision of baby food and medicines to IDPs – Pulmoddai Trincomalee (September 2009).

AMAF Projects post May 2009 ctd-: • Assistance to 23 displaced Jaffna Medical School undergraduates (from October 2009). • Finance cost of Prosthesis of 50 above knee and 50 below knee amputees in Mannar District (since January 2010). • Paramedical (Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist) Personnel – Recruitment, training and employment Mannar Hospital (Jan 2010).

AMAF Projects post May 2009 ctd-: • Assisting Vavuniya Base Hospital: providing urgent eye care to the displaced population – Vavuniya (Dec 2009). • Re-design and installation of centralized air-conditioning unit in Surgical ICU, Jaffna Teaching Hospital (August 2010). • Repair/recondition transport vehicle for palliative patients – ‘Cane Hospice’ project (August 2010).

AMAF Projects post May 2009 ctd-: • Chavakachcheri Mental Health Outreach Program (from November 2010). • Provided urgent medical care for the 2011 flood victims in the Batticoloa District through Ramakrishna Mission & Rotary Club • Provision of Biopsy Gun Systems to Ampara Base Hospital Joint Project with IMHO (Dr Parthpan)

  13. Future AMAF Projects • Mobile Mental Health Service to Jaffna District. Psychological counseling training for teachers • Employ junior medical staff to remote unmanned peripheral hospitals in North East Sri Lanka on casual basis. • Co-finance establishment of a Blood Bank and Emergency Department in Valligamam North of Jaffna.

  14. Future AMAF Projects ctd-: • Cleaning and sanitation of 200 wells in Vanni region to provide clean drinking water. • Providing nutritious mid-day meal for school children in Vanni region- SJC 87 Pr0ject. • Refurbishment of Surgical & Paediatric ICU –Batticaloa Teaching Hospital
