  4. THE 3rd COMPUTER IS… • Harvard Mark 1 computer • Invented by Howard Aiken and Grace Hopper in 1944! • It’s called the HARVARD Mark because a group of students at Harvard made it!

  5. The Eniac 1 computer! • Invented by John Presper Eckert & John W. Mauchly in 1946!! • It had 20,000 vacuum tubes!!!! The 4th Computer…

  6. The 5th Computer… • Manchester Baby Computer & The Williams Tube • Invented by Frederic Williams & Tom Kilburn in 1948!! • Nickname is “The Baby”

  7. The 6th Computer… • Is UNIVAC Computer • Invented by John Presper Eckert & John W. Mauchly 1951 • It was the first commercial computer and was able to pick presidential winners!

  8. The 7th computer… IBM 701 EDPM Computer Invented by the company International Business Machines in 1953!!

  9. The 8th Computer… The IBM PC - Home Computer Invented by International Business Machines (IBM) in 1981!! First personal computer!!

  10. The 9th Computer… Apple Lisa Computer Invented in 1983 The first home computer with a GUI (graphical user interface).

  11. Apple Macintosh Computer Invented in 1984 More affordable home computer with a GUI!! THE 10th COMPUTER!!...

Extra Information!! • The original internet is the Arpanet in 1969!!! • The first “Floppy Disk” invented by Alan Shugart and IBM in 1971!! • Microsoft Windows was invented in 1985 and they began a friendly competition with Apple!! • The first computer game was the Spacewar Computer Game!! Invented by Steve Russell and MIT in 1962! • The first computer mouse was invented in 1964 by Douglas Engelbart!!! It was called The Computer Mouse because the tail came out the end!!!!
