  3. Geography Ireland is located in Europe. Current President: Mary McAleese Tralee is in the north-west of Kerry Ireland is as big as Bavaria. (70,182km²) Tralee is located in the county “Kerry” Population figure: 4,456,143

Arrival day • Departure from Germany on 27.03.2011 Frankfurt Airport (4.30 a.m.) • Bus journey to Frankfurt Hahn (4.45 a.m. – 6.30 a.m.) • Flight with Ryanair to Kerry Airport (7.15 a.m. – 9.00 a.m.) • Transfer to Tralee Town centre Apartments by bustaxi • Check in at the apartments (9.30 a.m.)

  5. Arrival day • 10.00 a.m. – shopping food in a big grocer’s shop (it’s much more expensive than in Germany) • 11.00 a.m. - almost everyone took a nap (because we were so tired) • 06.00 p.m. – we had our first Irish Guinness in Kirby Brogue‘s Inn • **.** p.m. – we went to bed

  6. Apartments • Three Apartments each with 2 double rooms and 2 single rooms • Living room , TV, DVD-Player • Kitchen, microwave, toaster

  7. First day at college • 28.03.2011: guided tour through the college with TJ O’Connor • Working on project documentation • Lunch at the training restaurant

  9. Working in Ireland • Participants: Vanessa Horn – Grand Hotel Charlotte-Maxime Feind & Levi Hoffmann – Ballyroe Hotel Katharina Geist, Eva-Maria Moser & Christian Lewalski – O’Donnell’s Bar & Restaurant

  10. Day trip - Cliffs of Moher • 05.04.2011 (9.00 am): Departure by bus • Arrival at the Cliffs of Moher at 11.00 am • Typical misty and windy Irish weather • Back at the apartments at 6.00 pm • The group was guided and accompanied by a group of Irish students

  11. Birthday - Anne Ellwanger There was a special occasion on the 11.04.2011 - the *8th birthday of Mrs Ellwanger

  12. Day trip - Dingle A group of Irish students planned the trip for us. They showed us around on the Dingle Peninsula and we discovered the most beautiful sights of the western Irish coast.

  13. Project work at the College During 4 days at the college we worked on ..... • a presentation about our hotel or restaurant . • a flyer or brochure about Ireland with pieces of interesting information. • a short report about the economy of Ireland and Germany

  14. Special Thanks • We want to thank everyone for the support before our departure and during the stay in Ireland. • The project is really interesting for all trainees in the hotel & catering business. You can gain many experiences by working in Ireland. • Thanks for all!
