  3. Mood 1. The indicative is the verb used in ordinary statements and questions 2. The Imperative is used to give orders and instructions: 3. The subjunctive is used to express doubts, wishes, hopes, etc. 4. The conditional is stating something will cause something else to happen and uses the words might, would, and could.

  8. Subjunctive Cont. Also in a “that” clause when the main clause expresses a demand, command, recommendation, request, or take certain action Examples: They demand that the management refund their money. The board recommends that the treasurer resign at once.
