Putting It All Together: Resources • (ES) Display three books same topic: (penguins) • “This title has a great table of contents!” • “Here’s a book that cites five sources!” • (HS) Topic: Boxing • YA Novel – The Contender (heroism, racism, coming of age) • Sports Biography – The Good Son: The Life of Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini (personal growth) • Sports Biography – The Greatest: Muhammad Ali

  7. Clustering Standards • The art of exploring a topic with a number of related standards, and arranging in a rigorous lesson plan format. • The art of collaborating without physically collaborating.

  8. Clustered for You • Next Generation Science Standards and RELA Crosswalk • Lime Packet – High School • Blue Packet – Middle School • Yellow Packet – Elementary School • Why are these standards clustered? • What lesson could you imagine that might meet both standards?

  9. Cluster Your Own Standards • RELA Crosswalk is Content Area 1 • Your Choice: Content Area 2 • Next Generation Science Standards • C3 Social Studies Standards • Begin with a standard in the Crosswalk. • Choose a second content area.

  10. Explore the topics • Nouns (concepts) • Verbs (skills) • Find commonalities, think about how to integrate into one lesson that meets all chosen standards. • Create lesson seed. • Send your seed to OLMS.
