Welcome back! By now, I am sure each of you is an expert when it comes to registering for your ECS classes and checking your ACCmail accounts. However, we still need to do a bit of a review before we cover the new stuff. Let us begin!
Returning ECS Student Advising This is what we will cover: • Don’t forget about SAP (Review) • Remembering what it is, its components & • How it can still impact you • The Core Curriculum • What it is & • How your current ECS courses come into play • Transferring • Where your ECS classes are accepted & • How to verify via the ACC website • Transcripts • How to order them via your ACC online services account
Don’t Forget about SAP What it is and its three components • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) • Three Components: GPA ,Completion Rate, & Maximum Time Frame Students must be meeting Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress to be eligible for initial financial aid consideration. This includes Early College Start courses taken at ACC. Grade Point Average (GPA) Requirement: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA on all hours attempted at ACC Maximum Time Frame: Students must complete their major within a 150% of the posted degree plan Completion Rate Requirement: Students must complete 67% of all hours attempted at ACC
How SAP can still impact YOU Completion Rate Example/Junior ECS Student taking 3 credit hour courses • ECS Student 1 & 2 (Fall Semester) • Student 1 takes two classes and makes two “B’s”(100%). • Student 2 take two classes and makes one “B” and withdraws “W” from the other (50%). • What happens to Student 2 if this is their first and last semester of taking ECS classes? • ECS Student 2 (Spring & Summer) • Takes one class in spring and makes an “A” (66.67%). • Takes another class in summer and makes a “B” (75%). • Depending on whether or not student takes classes during senior year, he or she is eligible for initial financial aid consideration after high school.

Transferring Where your ECS courses are accepted… • As stated earlier, Texas law mandates that all state-supported colleges and universities offer a common core curriculum of at least 42 college credits that will seamlessly transfer to all Texas public colleges and universities • ACC credits can transfer widely to Texas private colleges, as well as to out-of-state public and private universities • Where can you verify what ECS classes transfer to a specific college or university? • The ACC transfer-guide website is a great place to start
Transferring (Continued) How to verify via the ACC website • Go to: www.austincc.edu/transfer • Locate the Prepare for Transfersection • Then select Transfer Guidesoption • Select desired public and or private university (listed in alphabetical order)

Transcripts How to order them via your ACC online service account • Go to: www.austincc.edu/online-services • Select Student LoginOption • Log in with your ACCeID & password • Select Transcript Order, under Academic Profile Section (Example to the right)
Transcripts (Continued) The Transcript Order Screen • Choose one sending option per transcript order • You can choose Option Oneand have the official transcript sent electronically • Or you can chooseOption Two and enter the address of the person or institution you want the transcript sent to • Transcript orders are processed within one business day of an online order
