General Information • All individuals using the iowagrants.gov system must be registered. • Instructions regarding the registration process, as well as other Perkins-related data documents, were sent by email on April 22-24. If you did not receive this correspondence, contact Tom Cooley at the Iowa Department of Education (tom.cooley@iowa.gov or 515-281-4700)

  4. General Information, Continued When navigating within the iowagrants.gov site, use the navigation bar in the program itself, not the navigation bar in your web browser.

  5. Step 1: Log on to www.iowagrants.gov

  6. Step 2: Enter user name and password

  7. Starting an Application • Designate one person to create the FY12 application, regardless of whether you are applying as a stand-alone district, Perkins consortium, or community college. • Other individuals will be tied to the application by the Program Officer (Tom Cooley at the Iowa Department of Education)

  8. Step 3: Select “Funding Opportunities” New App Existing App

  9. Step 4: Select the Appropriate FY12 Perkins Basic Grant – Continuation Application Postsecondary Secondary

  11. Step 5: Select “Start a New Application”

  12. Step 6: Enter base information for your application and select “Save”

  13. Step 7: On the next page, select “Go to Application Forms”

  14. Step 8: The components comprising the application will be listed. Select “Cover Sheet--General Information” to start.

  15. Step 9: Once information has been entered in a form, select “Save”

  16. Step 10: Once all information for a form has been saved, select “Mark as Complete.”

  17. Step 11: Once all forms have been completed, select “Submit”

  18. Unique Form Types • Two-Part Form • Attachment Form • Budget Form

  19. “Two-Part” forms: Those that require multiple steps to complete Part 1 Part 2

  20. Attachment Form: “CTE Program Verification Upload” (Secondary Application Only) Select “Add” in the navigation bar to an attachment box at the bottom of the form. Select “Browse” to locate the file on your computer, enter a brief description and select “Save” in the navigation bar.

  22. Budget Form: Allocation Allocation information is found in a document attached to the Perkins Application. Please note the current attachment contains an FY12 estimate. The exact amount will not be known until the state is notified of its federal Perkins allocation.
