Profession Psychology • According to Maslow, the real and basic needs for a human could be classified in hierarchy as follows : (each need appears when the preceding one is satisfied ). • Physiological need • The need for security • The need for belonging • The need for respect and honor • The need for information • The need for understanding • The need for beauty • The need for self respect and identification The Profession in general and the Engineering profession in particular contributes in the satisfaction of most of the basic needs. The Engineering Profession • Criteria For Engineering Profession: • Sincerity, Integrity and honesty in relation to responsibilities. • Honest and noble competence away from illegal ways to win. • Sound and right evaluation of human efforts. • Compromise, truth and reticent as work requires. • True presentation of research output and quotation from others. • Avoid extemporary in Engineering works . • Firmness on scientific opinion even if against personal interest. • Rejection to contribute in any illegal works that harm human beings. • Pride of the title “ Engineer “ and keep the exalted position of the profession .- Defense on others . • Active contribution in profession development .
