Gurukul Grammar School closed indefinitely after 30 teachers’ tests COVID positive

Guwahati: At least 30 people including teachers and staffs of the Gurukul Grammar School in Guwahati tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.<br><br>Reportedly, the teachers and staffs of the school were allegedly suffering from cough and fever from the past 3-4 days but were still conducting the classes at the school.<br><br>The parents and guardians of the students informed the District Commissioner regarding the incident.

TheparentsandguardiansofthestudentsinformedtheDistrictCommissionerregardingtheincident. Later,officialsfromthedistrictadministrationalongwithateamofhealthofficialsreachedtheschoolandtestedallthe144teachersandstaffs. After30ofthemweretestedpositiveforthevirus,thedistrictadministrationorderedtoclosetheschoolforanindefiniteperiodoftime.
