  1. Install PSPICE 9.1 with Schematics By Cameron Musgrove For ENSC 2613

  2. Download setup file from http://ensc2613.okstate.edu/91pspstu.exe • Then double-click on the file to run it.

  3. Change folder location in the top picture (that you see upon running the file) to the folder location in the picture below. • Click the “Unzip” button when the folder path has been changed.

  4. The program should extract the files and report it was successful. If not, check to be sure you have enough available disk space. • Close the self-extractor window.

  5. Go to the folder with the extracted files (C:\temp) • Double-click on “setup.exe” to start the installation.

  6. You will see this dialog box. Press “OK” to continue with installation. • (I have not problems installing PSPICE with antivirus software running. In fact, as I write this tutorial I have many programs running. Use your own judgment, and what works!)

  7. Click “Yes” to continue with installation. • Assuming, of course, you do have administrative privileges.

  8. It is essential that you check the box for “Schematics.” Otherwise, the tutorial in the back of the book will not apply to you! • Schematics is the graphical user interface program to draw and simulate circuits. • Select “Next” to continue.

  9. Choose a destination folder if you wish. Click “Next” to continue. • It is best to avoid using spaces in filenames with any program related to PSPICE, with the exception of installing the software to “Program Files” directory. Below this directory, please, do not use spaces.

  10. Click “Next” to continue.

  11. You should see an installation summary similar to this one. • Be sure that “Schematics” is listed under “Products to Install:” • Click “Next” to continue.

  12. You should see a screen similar to this one. • After the progress bar fills, a few other boxes will appear while the program continues to install itself.

  13. You might get a dialog box like this one. • It just means that you will not be able to double-click your schematic file to open it in PSPICE. This is probably a good thing, as your other programs are unaffected. • Click “OK” to continue.

  14. Uncheck the “Release Notes” box • Click “Finish” to end setup

  15. To Run PSPICE, go to Programs, PSpice Student, Schematics. • Have a lot of fun … simulating!
