Okeechobee Lake Update: Current Elevation & Future Improvements

Lake Okeechobee continues to experience significant rainfall this year, currently at an elevation of 15.6 feet compared to 15.11 feet last year and 10.93 feet two years ago. At 16.0 feet, there's a 1% failure risk, 0.45% at 18.0 feet, and 100% at 21.0 feet. The inflow rate is currently six times greater than outflow. Of the 32 culverts slated for replacement or removal, 12 are under contract, one is under construction, and one has been replaced. Project completion is anticipated by 2018. Data sourced from SFWMD remains provisional.
