  2. ”New” problems • When the application for DwB was written the discussion was about metadata standards – this is not the case today • Why are there in some countries a good relation between the NSI and the DA ? – Mainly regarding the metadata for the country • Metadata for (longitudinal) administrative registers, (Linked) Open Data and “Big Data” in research

  3. What's in common and that’s not in common ? NSI’s Researchers Common ground Data Archives External demands and needs

  4. What type of metadata are needed ? • NSI and metadata – production of statistics (and in some countries support to researchers) • Data Archive and metadata– often only at the end of a project • Researchers and metadata – for the specified project

  5. European social science infrastructure needs • Other European infrastructure projects (without any order) • CLARIN • DARIAH • DASISH • iCORDI • CESSDA • OpenAIRE • … and many more …

  7. Questions to discuss • What’s the needs in terms of metadata from a researchers point of view • What’s the lowest common denominator in terms of metadata between these three groups • Are there any (parts of) standards today that is enough? • The common ground between the tree groups
