A cigány nép Készítette: Marosfalvi Ádám, Papp Dorina és Rácz Dóri
Származásuk A cigányok Indiából származó nép, mely a 15. században vándorolt be Európába. Önmagukat romnak, vagyis „embernek”, illetve néha kálonak, „feketének” nevezik. A magyarországi vándorcigányok néhol manusnak (szintén „ember”) is nevezik magukat.
Különböző elnevezésük: • A magyarhoz hasonló például a cseh cikan, latin cinganus, németZigeuner, francia tzigane, tsigane, olasz zingaro, portugál cigano, román ţigan, spanyol zincal, svéd zigenare, szerb, szlovén és horvát cigan, vend ciganj illetve török çingene név.
