Jay Sawyer of Chicago is quite concerned about the fact that plastic waste has a bad impact on marine wildlife. Fish, marine mammals, and seabirds are being injured and killed by plastic pollution. He has recently made a research that 700 species would go extinct because of it. The deaths are caused due to plastic ingestion, starvation, suffocation, and entanglement. Talking about the report by Oceana, a conservation group, Sawyer illustrates some of what we know about how plastic affects sea turtles and marine mammals in United States waters.

Creatures at a Depth of 2000m has Plastic in Them • The scientists had taken the samples and made a research that creatures at a depth of 2000m had plastic in their bodies • Jay states that the slow accumulation of plastic in the marine environment has resulted in huge masses of plastic floating in the oceans • It is reported that 90% of animals had swallowed plastic and the result were entangled in it
