Chicago Based Jay Sawyer has a Firm Point on the Severity that Plastic Waste has on Marine Wildlife

Jay Sawyer of Chicago is quite concerned about the fact that plastic waste has a bad impact on marine wildlife. Fish, marine mammals, and seabirds are being injured and killed by plastic pollution. He has recently made a research that 700 species would go extinct because of it. The deaths are caused due to plastic ingestion, starvation, suffocation, and entanglement. Talking about the report by Oceana, a conservation group, Sawyer illustrates some of what we know about how plastic affects sea turtles and marine mammals in United States waters.

  3. Creatures at a Depth of 2000m has Plastic in Them • The scientists had taken the samples and made a research that creatures at a depth of 2000m had plastic in their bodies • Jay states that the slow accumulation of plastic in the marine environment has resulted in huge masses of plastic floating in the oceans • It is reported that 90% of animals had swallowed plastic and the result were entangled in it

  4. Sawyer’s Opinion on Use of Plastic • Chicago based Jay Sawyer agrees with the fact that plastic is quite cheap and versatile that makes it ideal for many applications • As per the reports, 50% of plastic is used once before being thrown away • It is unsustainable and unnecessary to pollute the plane with it • Plastic has come to be looked upon as a material of immense potential destruction

  5. Understand the Consequences of Plastic in the Ocean • Jay Sawyer from Chicago made it clear that it is imperative to take all possible measures to combat this problem • He emphasized that it is important to make people understand the consequences of plastic in the ocean
