Learning Levels • Girls continue to lag behind boys in language and arithmetic competencies. • Only 19% Males in the poorest cadre can read in English and perform basic Arithmetic. • Only about 40% Males with the richest wealth status are able to demonstrate satisfactory learning levels in English, Arithmetic and Urdu/ Pashto/ Sindhi. EYA Program: Introduction • EYA Program –> Pakistan Chapter of the Global Youth Ambassador Initiative • The GYAProgram is: • A World at School (AWAS) initiative • a movement to build and strengthen the emerging youth • 500 ambassadors in 85 countries • young leaders with the interest, passion and dedicationto be part of the global education solution The EYA Program is to be handled by ITA in Pakistan

Eligibility Criteria: EYA Program • 18-29years old. • Digital Access: 3-5hours a week and skill to use social media. • Strong leadershipskills • Highly self motivated withreadinessto speak up and take action for education in your community • Fluency in communication (Urdu/Local language and English) • Understanding of the challenges of access, quality and equity in educationin the context of Pakistan • Unbiasedandsensitivityto gender, ethnic and religious issues • No political interests or agendas

Expectations from the EYAs • Mobilizeand organize other youth networks and individuals to stand up for education • Engage in education activismand transformation at local, provincial and national levels with concrete results • Make their voices heard in their communitiesand globallyby organizing events, participating in campaigns, writing letters or blogs, running petition drives and taking part in other campaign activities. • Achieve global recognitionby writing blogs and news stories and sharing photographs and videos from events and projects for the global A World at School website and social media channels

Expectations Continued… • Organize local/national education advocacy-related events and campaigns with their organizations and schools and/or in partnership with other A World at School Youth Ambassadors. • When possible, organize a coalition of like-minded youth groups for education. • Engage with their local stakeholdersto achieve better results for education in their countries and communities -- in the policy, budget and other related processes. • Promotion of RTE Article 25-Aand all the related programs and undertakings of ITA with full vigor
