Overview of Project Topics • Research: Congestion pricing, advanced traffic management, sidewalk quality, carbon regulatory mechanisms on supply chain management, emissions modeling for traffic applications, costs of school transportation • Education: Public transportation, safety, sustainability, traffic simulation, ped/bike transportation, sustainable pavements • Workforce Development: Engineering for girls

  7. Student Involvement • Very active ITE and WTS student chapters • Summer internships for undergraduate students • Graduate research assistantships within research projects • TRB/Transpo/ITS America papers and presentations

  8. Workforce Development Activities • Family Engineering Night • Transportation Career Day • LEGO Robot Vehicle Lesson Plans for Secondary Education • Engineering Fair at UF • Summer camps on transportation

  9. Get involved! Participate in our Regional UTC conference in Orlando, April 4 and 5, 2013 (Rosen Plaza Hotel) • Four UTCs are collaborating to organize the conference: UF, USF, GaTech, MSU • Opportunity for agencies to gather and help set the agenda for regional research, education, workforce development and tech transfer initiatives We are exploring other opportunities for partnerships and we would be happy to discuss any ideas or suggestions you may have!
