Conferences in 2013 in Europewith IEEE booth globallyabout 20 applications / ~800 R8 NPSS members 2.5% growth • RADECS – Radiation Effects & hardening, Oxford, UK420 Attendees • 11 new members • including 8 graduate students (UK and France) ANIMMA – Nuclear and HEP Instrumentation, Marseilles, France 420 Attendees 40 Undergraduate Students adressed in 10 small groups • 9 new members Dora Merelli+Tony Lavietes, Christoph Ilgner, Patrick Le Dû + J-Luc Leray

Action under way Special Concern on Student BranchesR8 Europe, North Africa • Some Active Chapters R8 EMEA • North Africa : Algeria Subsection Joint Chapter, NPS/DEI, • Europe : Germany, Italy, Czechoslovakia • Student Branches and Student Branches Chapters R8 • Egypt Alexandria University Chapter N=15 / 200 students in Egypt Branch (data Steve Gold and region 8) • France Marseilles-Montpellier-St Etienne Universities, Branches under creation – linked to NSREC-RADECS and ANIMMA Communities • Mentored by Steve Gold and the France Section • An Invited Talk made January 2014 in Marseilles University for the Instrumentation Graduate and Undergraduates (about 200 student attending, three departments) • Student Branches petitions could be filled in July
