  2. Selection Process • Student selection is based on potential to raise their PSAT score enough to achieve National Merit Semi-finalist and/or National Achievement. • This is a select group based on PSAT scores from tenth grade. • We hold an informational meeting early in the second semester to inform parents and selected students about the class. • Because of student interest, we opened the class to other students, which resulted in the creation of two classes.

  3. About Humanities • ½ credit course • Titled: Early Period (7:25-8:15) • First semester only • First nine weeks dedicated to PSAT; Second nine weeks dedicated to ACT • Rotates among three different teachers • Materials include PSAT and ACT review books provided by PTO

  4. ACT Prep • Occurs during homeroom • Three week rotation • Prior to each test date, students rotate through English, math, and science. • Includes about 150 students and six teachers • Teacher made handouts along with computer practice • Pizza party at end of rotation

  5. Tenth Grade Tutorial Before SATP • Selection based on lowest 25% • Approximately 5 rotations each lasting 10 homeroom periods • Individualized based on weakest areas • Use computer for enrichment throughout each session
