  1. Facebook’s Smartwatch to hit the markets soon It is fantastic news for smartwatch lovers. The social media giant Facebook has unveiled that they are working on a smartwatch that can hit the markets next year. This smartwatch will allow the users to send messages via its inbuilt messenger service. Moreover, the users will be able to send messages on Instagram and WhatsApp.

  2. Apart from the messaging service, it will provide you with all health and fitness features. Facebook has confirmed that they would launch this smartwatch next year. But, they have not committed any date yet. With this smartwatch, Facebook will add once more feather to its hardware ecosystem cap. Facebook is already dealing in hardware equipment like virtual reality headsets, augmented reality smart glasses, and video calling devices if you don’t know yet. Facebook had also announced last year that they would join hand with Ray-Ban as a part of Project Aria. According to the report, the Facebook smartwatch will be Android-based. However, it is still unclear if it would be on Google’s Wear OS or any other software. They even haven’t decided on any brand name for this Facebook smartwatch. This smartwatch will have all essential health and fitness features like other smartwatches. But, what makes it unique and different from other watches, is its inbuilt messaging service. So, you would not require a smartphone anymore to connect with your friends on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook messenger.

  3. Moreover, this smartwatch will have cellular connectivity as well. Therefore, you will be able to use it without your smartphone also. According to a report, Facebook is also working on developing its own Operating System. Hence, Facebook would use the same in its future smartwatch models. Facebook is working hard in developing its own hardware ecosystem. Their product line includes Oculus virtual reality headsets and some video-calling devices, which are called Portal. This series of video calling devices includes Portal Mini, Portal, Portal+, and Portal TV. Project Aria, which was announced last year in September, is a joint venture with Ray-Ban glasses. In this project, Facebook would enable the Ray-Ban glasses with an augmented reality feature. These glasses will provide you with data and graphics from the internet. From this project, the users will get the Facebook apps and technologies on the smart eyewear. Facebook has also collaborated with Essilor and Luxottica brands to produce these smart eyewear. Hence, we can expect a lot of innovations from Facebook in the next year. It is exciting news for people who like to use social media on the go.
