  4. Nobunaga was a ruthless warrior, but he believed in the importance of the arts • Hideyoshi was way too ambitious, but was part of this period marking one of the most creative periods in Japanese history.

  8. Edo Period • Tokugawa Ieyasu gains control of Japan, period lasted from 1603 - 1868 • Edo is now new capital, not Kyoto. • Peace and prosperity came to Japan • Japan was closed off to the rest of the world bc of suspicious government
