  2. Vinod Khanna was a legendary Indian film actor, producer and politician who worked in Hindi films for over four decades. He was born on October 6, 1946, in Peshawar, British India (now in Pakistan) to Kishanchand Khanna and Kamla Khanna. He had three sisters and one brother. His father was a textiles businessman, and his mother was a housewife. Vinod Khanna's family later moved to Mumbai, India, where he grew up. Early Life and Education: Vinod Khanna completed his schooling from Mumbai's St. Xavier's High School and then went on to pursue a commerce degree from Sydenham College. However, he was always interested in acting and decided to pursue a career in the film industry. Career: Vinod Khanna made his acting debut in 1968 with the film "Man Ka Meet." He gained popularity with his role in the film "Mere Apne" in 1971. He went on to star in several successful films, including "Achanak," "Imtihaan," "Mere Humdum Mere Dost," "Haath Ki Safai," "Kuchhe Dhaage," "Hera Pheri," "Amar Akbar Anthony," "Muqaddar Ka Sikandar," "Qurbani," and "Dayavan." He was known for his good looks, charm, and intense performances on screen. Vinod Khanna also produced and directed a few films, including "Pyaar Ki Jeet," "Himalay Se Ooncha," and "Lekin." He was one of the most sought-after actors in the 1970s and 1980s and worked with some of the biggest names in the film industry. Personal Life: Vinod Khanna was married to Geetanjali Khanna, and the couple had two sons, Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna. However, in 1985, he became a disciple of Osho Rajneesh and decided to leave the film industry to live at the Osho commune in Pune, India. He stayed there for five years and returned to the film industry in 1990. Political Career: In 1997, Vinod Khanna joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected as a Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab in 1998. He was re-elected to the Lok Sabha in

  3. 1999, 2004, and 2014. He held various portfolios in the government, including Minister of State for External Affairs, Culture, and Tourism. Death: Vinod Khanna passed away on April 27, 2017, at the age of 70, due to bladder cancer. His death was a shock to his fans and the film industry, and several actors paid their tributes to him. Legacy: Vinod Khanna was a versatile actor who was loved by millions of fans for his charming personality and intense performances. He won several awards for his performances, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for "Haath Ki Safai" and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
