  1. Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is Integral to India’s Ambition to become a Manufacturing Powerhouse The Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is integral to India’s ambition to become a manufacturing powerhouse. The region situated 100 KM southwest of the Ahmedabad city is spread across a prolific area of 922 Sq Km. 50% of the area has been allotted for infrastructure development and the remaining will be used for real estate and commercial development activities. The DSIR is developed with the help of JICA, the national government, and the state government in Gujarat. The project is systematically developed into thriving industrial, commercial, and housing townships with plug-and-play facilities for industrial manufacturing, robust technology backbone, and extensive infrastructure support.

  2. Fast Paced Infrastructure Growth Infrastructure activities are taking place at a fast pace at DSIR. A 72 KM long roadway has been developed. Work is complete on the necessary water facilities such as water treatment, sewage treatment, etc. At a rapid scale, work is going on the expressway connecting Dholera with Ahmedabad. DSIR will have its airport with cargo facilities as well. The project is under construction and is expected to be completed by 2025. Besides air connectivity, DSIR will also be seamlessly connected with maritime trade with the help of nearby ports in Gujarat. The investments are channelized with help of a special purpose vehicle. Already GOI has invested USD 1.4 billion in the project. In the future DSIR will also have a metro network connecting the region with Gandhi Nagar and Ahmedabad. This will make the commute for the residents very easy. DSIR will have ample retail facilities for the residents, in the form of malls, shopping centers, cinema theatres, high streets, etc. to ensure quality living for the residents. Land parcels have also been earmarked to develop world-class academic universities.

  3. A New Hub for Manufacturing DSIR will be the future of manufacturing in the country. Already Reliance and Tata have shown interest to invest in DSIR. Reliance is mulling developing manufacturing facilities for Jio Next in DSIR. In the future, the region will be a major node for a wide range of manufacturing including but not limited to ICT, consumer electronics, biotechnology & pharma, green energy, aviation, emerging technologies, agribusiness, and general manufacturing. Alongside defense clusters in UP and TN, DSIR has the potential to become an important node in Indian defense manufacturing. The region will be equipped with a firing range, which will further add to its overall attractiveness as a defense manufacturing hub. Manufacturers in DSIR will enjoy world-class technology support. Already heavyweights like IBM, Wipro, and CISCO are working towards deployment of the IT and communication network. Backed by a robust technology backbone, custom-made plug & play facilities, and seamless connectivity across air, water, and roadways will make DSIR one of the most promising manufacturing destinations in India. Lands are available at a 99 years lease. DSIR has also put a very simplified and no-hassle process for upcoming investors to procure land.
