MultiplayerIntegration:DisconnectinStorytelling Tomakethesingle-playerstorymoreinteresting,ModernWarfareIII addedsomethingcalled"OpenCombatMissions,"similartoCallof Duty:Warzone,byintroducing"OpenCombatMissions."However, peopleonlylikeit alittlebecauseit doesnot feelconnectedtothemain story.Instead,thesemissionsareboringanddon'thaveagood storyline thattieseverythingtogether.Addingthesemissionsfailsto providethe impactfulmomentsplayerscravefromaCallofDutycampaign.

CharacterIdentityandStorytelling Criticsexpressdisappointmentwiththeiconiccharacterssuchas CaptainPrice,Soap,Ghost,andMakarovwhichareportrayedin the game.Thesecharacters,onceknownfortheirinterestingpersonalities, arenowcriticizedformilitarystereotypeswithoutthedepththeyhadin theoriginalModernWarfaretrilogy.Thenarrativeitselfisdescribedas dullandforgettable,withmissionsfeelingmoreliketaskstocomplete ratherthancontributingtoanexcitingoverallplot. CoreGameplayandTechnicalBrilliance TheCallofDutycampaignhassomeproblems,butithighlightsthe game'sintensecoregameplay–theshootingmechanicsarepreciseand responsive.Alsothegame'simpressivegraphics,includingdetailed charactersandrealisticenvironments,along withexcellentsound design.
