BirdSong Facebook Development Phase 2, 3 & 4
Phase 2 - Requests “When adding a Facebook profile, one or more sectors can be ticked.” This was in the brief Explain: We need to be able to add a page to more than one sector e.g. Chanel = Fashion + Luxury Net a Porter = Fashion + Retail Pepsi = Brand + Beverage + Soft Drink This helps us grow the sectors for comparisons We should have up to 3 sectors named Primary Sector, Secondary Sector, Tertiary Sector – this becomes important later on …
Phase 2 Bugs • Please can you check what happens to a page when the Facebook URL is not clear • E.g. Williams F1 is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Williams-F1/339720108887 • The system can’t handle it • Please can you check Jackwillsfans and JJB sports = these are the correct details but don’t pull data through
Phase 2 Improvements • In the accounts & sectors view, please can we add in view options for 50 & 100 rows
Phase 2 – XML Feed – Why? By offering the ability to ‘stream’ data to another place, I have more opportunities to use the data in other tools we may build and to analyse the data using other tools. Possible Uses
Does it have to be XML? • It needs to be a function that will: • Define the data in rows and columns for ease of analysis • Update dynamically in line with the Cron jobs on BirdSong
Phase 3 • With Phase 3 what I would like to: • Database Size • Further Group work • Improve the data display • Create Sector analysis • Offer export function of wall updates
1. Database Size • We need to plan for at least 1,000 brands + 500 users
2. Further Group Work • This is a really useful function • Please can we add the function to assign a group to view a sector • E.g. Martech can see the Motorsport sector
Sector Analysis • I would like to be able to create a screen of analysis for each sector • This would give us average figures for each sector which we can then use to benchmark each page against brand in the sector • E.g. • Number of Brands in the sector [count the number of pages in this sector] • % Sector Fan growth by day • Average Number of Posts per Day • Average Number of Likes per update • Average Number of Comments per update
Example Analysis • Sector: UK Retail • Brands in Database: 43 • Average Number Fans: 726,366** • Average % Growth of fan page by day = • Average Number of Updates per Day = • Average Number of Likes per post = • Average Number of Comments per post = • Updated once per day or ‘on the fly’ depending on resource requirements
New Sector View • This would be a page that contained the details and the results of the calculations • There would be one page per sector Sector Details Top 10 Brands in this sector (by fans) Asos Argos Zara
Brand: Data Display • I would like to add to this page: • A graph of fans over the last 30 days** • Screenshot of the page – suggest trying Thumbshots*** • Plus add some calculations to compare against primary sector:**** • Fan Count compared to average sector fans • Fan Growth compared to average sector fan growth • Updates per day + comparison to average updates per day • Average Likes per update + comparison to sector average • Average comments per update + comparison to sector average
Phase 3: Data Display • Currently:
Phase 3.5 • I would like to create a page for each brand with more analysis of the data • E.g. • Average updates per day (brand vs sector) • Average comments per day (brand vs sector) • Average Likes per day (brand vs sector) • Analysis of comments & likes by type of update • Analysis of comments & like by type of content • Analysis of comments & likes by type and time of day/day of week
Phase 4 – The plan so far! • Phase 4 will require: • Moving BirdSong to our hosting – planned facebook.birdsongdtt.com (not yet live) • More ways to analyse and display the data • For new users creating a page between sign in and seeing the data. This will be a legal Agree/Don’t Agree box that protects us. • Inclusion of getsatisfaction.com for customer feedback • Then we rest!
