  1. Dreamweaver’s Book Shop Sydney Crawford www.dreamweavers-book-shop.com

  2. Dreamweaver’s Book Shop ~Dreamweaver’s Book Shop is a home-based, online store that sells e-books, children’s books, and other sorts of literature. It’s online because it’s simpler than owning and paying rent for a store-front, and because being online lets us get our orders faster and easier.

  3. The Industry ~ We sell e-books, audiobooks, children’s books, teen’s books and adult books all for their listed price, from all sorts of authors. ~ The e-books are slightly more popular than the regular books because of the easy way to transport and the fact that they are online, instead of having to be ordered and shipped.

  4. The Industry (cont’d) ~ The book industry is good to get into because a lot of people love to read, from best-sellers to little known books, and the fact that e-books are becoming more popular than ever due to their easy to-go format on a Kindle or a Nook.

  5. Target Market ~ Our average customer would be one who would like to read or are looking for a book, including parents who want to help their children learn to read or just read more.

  6. Competition ~ Our two major competitors are Barnes & Noble and Amazon, because both are big sellers, especially with their Kindle Fire and Nook readers, which allows people to read e-books easily.

  7. Competition (cont’d) ~ Although our competitors have very advanced technology and a bigger storefront, Dreamweaver’s Book Shoppe offers a family-run business and easy-to-talk-to employees.

  8. Market Strategy ~ We’ll advertise at events at libraries such as book signings from our authors to ads on the internet ~ Our books will cost as much as normal books, our hardcovers will cost more, but our e-books will cost the least because there’s no shipping required.

  9. Market Strategy (cont’d) ~ Our prices are set by what the authors would like to sell them for. ~ Since our store is online, and most of our authors are self-published, we will only need to request a certain number of books (depending on the popularity) to put up for sale, and when we’re close to running out, request for more.

  10. Employees ~ We won’t need as many employees as our competitors because we are an online bookstore and it can be managed by two or three people. ~ This discludes our authors because they are numerous and multiple sign our contract to have their books sold by us.

  11. Employees (cont’d) ~ We only would need a website manager and a treasury, which could be run by one person alone. ~ Other than that, we will have authors to work with, although they are contracted.

  12. Employees (cont’d) ~ Our authors, the main employees, will be paid their royalties whenever a book is sold. ~ There is a small percentage of what we take, and the authors will get the rest.

  13. Management ~ The three jobs besides authors are “website manager”, one who manages the site and makes any necessary updates or additions, and the “treasurer”, the one who manages our money and our funds for our events. Our CEO and market manager takes care of the author’s contracts and organizes the events. ~ Other than that, we have the authors.

  14. Chain of Command ~ Everybody works together and the authors are all treated with respect. The website manager and treasurer have slightly more power than the authors, but less than the CEO. CEO Website Manager/ Treasurer Authors
