2. Instructions for use Teacher Instructions • Create the choice board using PowerPoint. • Create links to online resources. • Create links to slides within the PowerPoint. Student Directions • Students will choose to complete three activities on the choiceboard completing a tic tac toe board. • When students complete the choiceboard they then turn in their three projects. Students can turn in their work digitally or as a hard copy. Digital choice boards gives students choices about what they are studying. Students are engaged with both content and technology.

3. Go to Slidecarnival and check out all the fun PowerPoint Backgrounds. Go to Slide 4 Learn how to add a hyperlink to webpage. Notice when you work on the slide you are not in view mode. Click on Slide 7 This slide will provide directions on how to add videos that students can watch. Practice printing in PowerPoint. Follow the directions on slide 9 Go to Slide 5 Learn how to add a hyperlink to a slide. Notice when you work on the slide you are not in view mode. Blindfold challenge. Close your eyes – reach into the secret box – eat the surprise then go to slide 6 and write a description of what you ate. Connect and complete online activities. Complete this example for an X. Go to this really fun math site and solve at least 2 questions to get the X! Go to slide 8 for directions on how to add a document.

4. Return to Choice Board This slide should be completed in edit mode. 1. Add a hyperlink to a webpage Find a webpage you like. Copy the URL Highlight Add A Hyperlink Click on Insert/Hyperlink Existing file or webpage Paste the address Click ok The hyperlink will only work when in view mode.

5. Return to Choice Board This slide should be completed in edit mode. 2. Add a hyperlink to a slide Highlight Add A Hyperlink Click on Insert/Hyperlink Place in Document Choose slide 6 Click ok The hyperlink will only work when in view mode.

6. Write your description of your blindfold item on this slide. Remember to be descriptive and try to add figurative language. Return to Choice Board This slide should be completed in edit mode.

7. Adding a Video to Your Choice Board • Download 4K Video Downloader • You may want to pin it to your task bar • Format 4K • Open 4K>Select Tools>Smart Mode>Format>MP4 Video • While in Smart Mode>Directory>browse and select a folder where you want to download your videos. (I created a videos folder) • Download videos • Open 4K>go to the video site using browser>copy link>select “Paste Link” on 4K page>the video should show on the 4K page when it’s downloaded>You can find the video in your folder by selecting the three dots that show to the right of the video and selecting “Show in Folder” • Embed videos • Go to folder where video is saved>select copy>go to slide>select paste • The video should display on your slide. You can resize on slide. Return to Choice Board This slide should be completed in edit mode.

8. Add a pdf page directly to the slide: Select Insert>Object>Create from file>Browse files for document>Select the file>Select OK The document will appear on the slide. When in edit mode, students can double click on the document and it will open. Add pdf to slide without image: Follow steps above but before selecting Ok, check the box Display as Icon>If you want change the caption, select Change Icon>Type the name of the document in the caption box>select OK Your pdf will display as a small icon. When in edit mode, students can double click on the icon and the document will open. Return to Choice Board This slide should be completed in edit mode.

9. Return to Choice Board This slide should be completed in edit mode. Printing in PowerPoint Directions Go to File – Print Be careful here – you most likely do not want to print all slides. Choose from the drop down box : print current slide or custom range. Students will need to be taught this process if they are handing in hard copies.
