Creative Reuse: Turning Old Shopping Bags Into Stuffed Bears for Charity
For our project, we transformed old shopping bags from our basement into 11 adorable stuffed bears. After crafting each bear, we sold them for $10 each, raising a total of $110. We decided to donate all the proceeds to the Humane Society to support animal welfare. Inspired by various remade creations on Pinterest, we initially considered using old jeans but pivoted to using shopping bags when that plan didn’t work out. This project allowed us to rethink waste and contribute positively to our community.

What We are doing • For our project we made bears out of all of our old shopping bags what were just sitting in our basement and made them into stuff animals. After we finished making 11 stuffed animal bears we sold them for 10 dollars each. In the end we made 110 dollars. We were thinking and then decided to give the money to a charity. So we decided to give the money to the Human Society.
How this all happened • To find our idea we began thinking about all of the different things we can remake out of all the different items what we already had so we went to pintres and search remade stuff. And we found a bunch of different teddy bears made out of a bunch of different items. First we were going to use old pairs of our jeans to make the stuffed animals. But soon later when we first tried making a stuff animal out of jeans it didn’t really work out. So we were at my house looking for other stuff we could use and found a ton of old shopping bags what we could use to make the BEARS. So we collected all of the bags what we wanted to use and got to work.
