Bovine Genome Database: Community-Driven Gene Annotation and Data Management

The Bovine Genome Database serves as a collaborative platform for researchers and curators to enhance gene annotations of bovine genomes. The annotations are meticulously merged every six months to ensure the highest quality of data. The system supports user registration for authentication of contributors and includes features for rollbacks and auditing through in-house Apollo tools. Additionally, the database is built on a PostgreSQL relational structure, allowing for effective data exchange via flat files and JNLP implementations. The development team continuously works on software components to improve functionality.
