2. Language exam Section B BAD Mono-syllabic adjectives. Boring introductions – “I am writing this letter…” Sentences all the same length. Slang, informal or basic language. 4 line paragraphs. 15 line paragraphs. Don’t take the piss. GOOD Attention grabbing opening. Starting sentences in different ways – adjective, adverb, subject, connective, verb. Range of sophisticated punctuation – question mark, exclamation, colon, semi colon. Persuasive techniques – AFORREST etc. Interesting vocabulary. Connectives so build a structure – secondly, moving on, in conclusion etc.
