  3. Getting started • Questions to answer: • Campus image/perception? • Campus awareness? • Benefits to the University? • Benefits to faculty and staff? • Tie strategies to answers

  4. Resources needed • Department leadership support • Staff buy in • Staff time and skill to implement • Small budget

  5. Marketing strategies • Form an advisory board • Publish and distribute an internal newsletter – plant seeds • Create an all-programs brochure • Use consistent messaging and branding • Volunteer for campus committees

  6. Marketing strategies • Nurture current relationships • Attend campus activities & network • Put university public information contact on your speed dial • Use University systems to your advantage

  7. Marketing strategies • Connect with other department marketers and cross promote programs • Conduct department presentations • Place sandwich boards around campus to promote programs

  8. Challenges/obstacles • It takes time • Staff resistance • Faculty/staff with long memories • Staff frustration hitting roadblocks • Misconceptions tough to change Extended Education and Summer Programs

  9. How’s it going? • Slow process but little steps being made • We’re doing a better job of educating faculty/staff • Faculty/staff are seeking us out • Recognition by upper administration
