Aporte de Chandler (modo planeación) • El documento clásico de CHANDLER (1962) es un libro pionero en la realización de estudios comparativos del modo como se organizan las grandes empresas industriales de los Estados Unidos desde 1900, con énfasis en 4 compañías líderes en sus sectores: E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, GMC, Standard OilCompany (New Jersey) y Sears Roebuck and Company. El autor nota la emergencia de una estructura corporativa descentralizada, “multidivisional”, supervisada por una considerable “oficina general” conformada por ejecutivos no operativos.
