  4. Edo Friends & Fed. Govt. • In the process of being registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a Charity Organization. • Will be allowed to issue tax receipts for income tax purposes. • Will be providing some community service programs on behalf of the Fed. Govt. next year. • In partnership with the immigration dept. Annual General Meeting by President Osakue Ukponrefe

Edo Friends and BC Govt. • In partnership with the Govt. in providing community service to new immigrants. • Existing programs funding arrangements with the govt. • Provide useful information to the govt. in the areas of planning and implementation of programs Annual General Meeting by President Osakue Ukponrefe

  7. Community Services • Seminars – By Edo Friends and in conjunction with NCDA • Provided New Immigrants Bus Passes Food & Food Allowances Furniture and household items and allowances Youth Activities funding Others Annual General Meeting by President Osakue Ukponrefe

  10. 2006 Activities • Successful Anniversary Party in March • Community outreach program started in March • Year 2 grant application submitted • Application for registration as a charity under income tax act submitted • Community outreach dinner was organized • Community BBQ event was organized • Became a member of Edo National Association and attended both the COP and National Convention Annual General Meeting by President Osakue Ukponrefe

  11. 2006 Activities • Vacant executive office (PRO) was filled • Bought computer and projector • Set aside $5000 for children educational fund • EFOBA Magazine under new editor • Facilitated the release of 5 Nigerians from immigration detention • Set-up the association’s direct telephone line (604-802-0116) Annual General Meeting by President Osakue Ukponrefe

Edo Friends & Future Activities • Launching of Edo House in 2007 • To have a community outreach office and a paid director • To organize more seminars for new immigrants • To use our tax exempt status with the Federal Govt. to raise more money for the association • To expand our new immigrants settlement and integration programs • Election of New Executive in March 2007 • ENA Convention in Seattle - September 2007 Annual General Meeting by President Osakue Ukponrefe
