What do values have to do with work? • For a huge part of our life (unless we are very lucky) we spend a significant part of our waking hours at work. • If we work in a job that does not reflect our values, we may feel uncomfortable or unhappy at work. • Work that does not meet our values may lead us to feel discontented, like we are missing out on something. • Our values can change as we grow and age… sometimes our work has to change as well.   7. What values may relate to work? • Money • Fame • Help others Do you want a job that has the potential to make you rich? Do you only care that the job provides the amount of money you need? Do you want to become famous? Is it important that people know your name? Do you want a job where you provide assistance to others? Are you interested in being a nurse, social worker or teacher?
