  3. What is Business Intelligence? • SIMPLY PUT, BI IS THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT THROUGH SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS, DATA COLLECTION, SYSTEM INTEGRATION, AND DATA ANALYSIS. • BI HELPS IMPROVE BUSINESS DECISION MAKING PROCESS USING FACT-BASED SUPPORT SYSTEMS.

  10. BI LIMITATIONS • BI IS DOMINATED BY PROCESS RULES THAT DO NOT FIT THE COMPLEX DATA. • BI IS TO SUPPORT BUSINESS ENTITIES IN ORDER TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS MAKING, REDUCING RISKS AND NOT TO WARN US OF EVERY EVENTUALITY. • BI LATENCY OF INFORMATION RETRIEVAL (DATA WAREHOUSING PROCESS)

BISOLUTIONS TO AVOID MISHANDLING BI TOOLS: • USERS MUST UPDATE THEIR PARADIGMS • USERS MUST BE SKILLED TO KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE COMPLEX FLOW OF INFORMATION • AN ANALYTICAL BACKGROUND IN INTERDISCIPLINARY FIELD SUCH AS ECONOMICS, STATISTICS, MATHEMATICS, MARKETING AND OPERATIONS RESEARCH OR MAYBE AN MBA SHOULD BE REQUIRED.
