  2. Animal's Name • My animal's name is the White-Footed Mouse. • Their scientific name is peromyscus leucopus.

  3. Classification It's a mammal and it's related to the Wood Mouse.

  4. Appearance Its size and weight is 20 to 30 grams grows up to 8 inches.

  5. Movement My animal scurries really fast or else it will get eaten from a lot of predators.

  6. Diet my animal eats: • seeds • nuts • insects • grains • fruits • fungi

  7. Habitat White-Footed Mice live in a wide variety of habitats but are most abundant in warm dry forests in North America.

  8. Adaptations Some adaptations of the White-Footed Mouse are: •  sharp eyesight •  great hearing •  super sense of smell •  they use their whiskers as part of their sense of touch 

  9. Life Cycle /Reproduction • White-Footed Mice live up to be 96 months • They breed from March to October • Newborn babies are blind and their eyes open 2 weeks later

  10. Behavior • White-Footed Mice are primarily nocturnal. • They're mainly solitary and are territorial •  Something weird they do is drum their front paws on leaves or branches to make a buzzing noise, but we don't know why!

  11. Defense & Offense White-Footed Mice defend themselves by using speed to run away from predators. They are REALLY fast!

  12. Enemies The enemies that I researched are: • raccoons • birds • cats • lynx • weasels • snakes • owls

  13. Species Survival Status White-Footed Mice are not endangered or threatened, they are common and abundant.

  14. Something Special White-Footed mice are good swimmers and are EXCELLENT climbers.
