  2. VSITE • Vascular Surgery In-Training Examination • Developed by APDVS and ABS/VSB in 2007 • First examination given in 2008

  3. VSITE • On-line examination given to all vascular surgery trainees (5/2, 0/5, 4/2) • Annual examination given to trainees to assess their knowledge • Typically given last Saturday in February (Make sure trainees know!)

  4. VSITE • Content areas same as those for the Vascular Surgery qualifying examination • Designed to give programs and trainees feedback on how they are doing

  5. VSITE Timeline • ~November: Look for email from ABS regarding signing up for the examination (Be sure your program contact is with ABS) • ~January: Instructions emailed to PDs about proctoring examination and loading it onto desktop

  6. VSITE • Online examination • Internet Access needed • Check that firewalls at your institution allow access by going to site several days before exam

  7. VSITE • Exam typically given last Saturday in February (Try not to have them on call night before) • Trainees get a ~ 4hours to complete exam online • Vascular faculty present

  8. VSITE Results • Emailed about one month later • % correct reported along with topic areas • No percentile given of how trainees compare to the rest of their peers

  9. VSITE What can I do as Program Coordinator? • Make sure program contact information is listed with ABS • Remind faculty and trainees • Sign up when email arrives • Access site on computer trainees will use to ensure it works • Look for results in late March / early April • Print out a copy for trainee file
