  1. Module 9: Submit

  2. Objectives • Welcome to the Cayuse424 Submit Training Module. • In this module you will learn how to use Cayuse424 to: • Discern the status of a proposal once it has been submitted to Grants.gov. • Submit proposals to Grants.gov.

  3. Assessing Readiness to Submit • Your proposal is ready to be submitted when: • All required SFS424 forms have been completed. • The Research Plan has been attached. • All other documents (e.g., budget justification, Biosketches, etc.) have been attached. • All review authorities (including the AOR) have approved the proposal.

  4. Determining Who Can Submit • Some organizations centrally control who can submit. If this is the case, you will not be able to perform the submit yourself. You must contact the appropriate authority and request that they submit the proposal for you. • Once the proposal has been submitted you can track its progress using the Cayuse424 Tracking Information.

  5. Locating the Proposal • To access the Cayuse424 Tracking Information, open the submitted proposal. • Click Proposals. • Locate the proposal on your list. • Click the proposal name.

  6. Submitting Your Proposal • If your organization allows users to perform the submit, it will configure Cayuse424 so that the system will allow you to do so. • To submit your proposal, open it. • Click the icon.

  7. Submitting Your Proposal • To perform an Electronic Submission • Click Validate Proposal: Cayuse424 will perform a final error check. If errors are found, you must correct them before submitting, otherwise your proposal will be rejected once it is received by Grants.gov.

  8. Submitting Your Proposal • Click Submit to Grants.gov.

  9. Submitting Your Proposal • Click Submit

  10. Submitting Your Proposal • The submission status will be displayed.

  11. Submitting Your Proposal • Once the submission is complete a Grants.gov tracking number is displayed along with date, time and submitter. • Your institution will receive a series of emails from Grants.gov and the federal contracting agency indicating status. • Receipt does not mean acceptance. Be vigilant about reviewing status until you are sure it has been accepted by the agency.

  13. Reviewing Tracking Information • The Electronic Submission page contains: • Proposal Details • Proposal Submission History • Electronic Submission information • Click the icon for details
