What can I get on CSFP? A monthly package of nutritious foods • Canned meat • Vegetables • Fruit & juice • Cheese • Milk (Evap or Dried) • Cereal • Peanut butter or beans • Pasta, rice or potatoes • Infants get formula, juice, and cereal.
If I am on WIC can I also be on CSFP? • No…Not really.... Family members can use both programs, but not for the same participant. • When your child ‘graduates’ from WIC at age 5 he or she can be on CSFP for another year, up to age 6. • Postpartum women who go off WIC at 6 months can be on CSFP for another 6 months
How does it work? • State distributes federal funds • USDA commodities shipped to Food Bank of AK & Fairbanks Community Food Bank • Food boxes are packaged & boxes delivered to partner agencies* for distribution. • Participants pick up boxes from partner agencies or delivered • *over 22 partners statewide
