  2. Mission Statement: All students will improve their individual character development and citizenship. Positive character qualities are defined as leadership, respect, integrity, generosity, responsibility, dependability. * *words chosen by LCHS community survey, May 2009.

Current Plans for Character Development Program • Additional category for Student of the Month • Banners on display with 6 qualities • Web site • Skits, posters, contests, displays, awards, comic strips • Partnership with S.A.D.D. • Student features • Updates via department meetings • 1 quality per month with activities

  5. Training for students and staff during chosen school months 2009-10 • September - respect • October - responsibility • November - generosity • February - leadership • March - integrity • April - dependability

  6. What can I, as part of the LC staff do? • Be aware of and support the program and activities. • Provide input to team of what may be improved. • Be a model to demonstrate respect, integrity, responsibility, dependability, generosity, and leadership. • Find ways to incorporate the above 6 concepts into lesson plans • Provide opportunities for students to practice the qualities themselves • Acknowledge and praise students who demonstrate the above 6 qualities
