  7. Atrocities Because of these atrocities, Christians have fled Iraq in large numbers, leaving their homes and possessions behind, the majority going over the borders to Jordan and Syria, where they are not welcomed not allowed to work, and not recognised officially as refugees by the various governments.

  8. Refugees are destitute • The majority of the Christian refugees are destitute and rely on the charity from their relatives abroad for their daily needs, food, medicine and education. To survive, some have resorted to illegal activities to help their families.

  9. Purpose of ICIN This is why, a number of Iraqi Christians with dual nationalities, have set up this charity with the sole purpose of helping our needy brethren. We need all the help we can get and we are relying on the generosity of all Christians in the West to help us make life a little bit easier for them.

  11. Our Aid Program: In Iraq, ICIN helps the displaced and needy families through the Bishop of Baghdad and other organisations. This includes among other things paying a monthly allowance, medical expenses and children’s education.

  12. In Jordan In Jordan, ICIN works with Father Khalil Jaar of The messenger of peace organisation. He runs a well organised program that helps displaced Iraqi families. With our contribution, he distributes food parcels, heaters and blankets. For the last scholastic year, ICIN, with the help of British sponsors, has paid for the education of many children who would otherwise not go to school. We intend to carry on with this sponsorship for the coming years.

  13. In Syria In Syria, We work with the Chaldean and Syrian Orthodox bishops of Aleppo with food distribution, medical help, children activities, and supporting widows and their families Recently we have organised English and computer courses to prepare the refugees for a new life.
