Class Three GOAL SETTING AND PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
Goals and Goal Setting: • Goals: The purpose toward which effort is directed • American Heritage College Dictionary • Goal-Setting: • The practice of developing and assigning goals to programs, services or activities, etc.
Performance Measurement: • The act of measuring ones performance on a particular task or activity • The act of measuring ones performance toward completing desired goals
Goal setting and performance measurement sequence of events: • Leader of the organization • Vision for the organization (global and/or broad) • Goals for the organization (specific period of time)
