National pension systems should take into account career interruptions due to caring obligations, and periods of part-time contract, maternity leave • European pensions system must aim to eliminating inequalities, prohibit discrimination in public private pension schemes • Considers periods spent taking care of dependant family members – effective insured periods, no matter age or degree of dependency • Structural factors should be addressed – child care, family-work life

Guarantee pension rights for all - justified career breaks • Women’s own income guarantees economic autonomy and equality, individualise social security rights • Design a minimum income scheme • Gender pay gap cause for different pensions • Work done in the home to be assessed • Encourage more women to participate int he labour market

European Framework Directive on minimum pensions (individualised assessment) • Usage of gender-neutral mortality tables when calculating pensions • Impact assessment on all social security reforms (day care, eldercare facilities) • New EU Directive that guarantee solidarity between generations • Pension rights for EU citizens working in another MS
