  11. But all people… • Breathe in oxygen • Breathe out carbon dioxide • Need food and liquid to subsist • These are Commonalities

  12. All Organizations are unique • Each has its own set of values • Culture • Strengths & Weaknesses

  13. Commonalities of Organizations • Purpose for existence • Rules or procedures • Task assignments • Means of communication • Hierarchy of authority

  14. Regardless of the Organization: • IBM • Disney • Microsoft • WIU • Three Stooges Fan Club Those commonalities exist.

  15. Knowledge of organizations is important no matter… • What job you have • What organization you work in • How old you are

  16. If you want to succeed in your career… • You have to know how the ‘game’ is played
