Trip Details • The Salvation Army Clearing House is a program that has several Twin Cities social service agencies committee members, such as: Merrick Community Center, Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, West Seventh Community Center, Ramsey County Human Services, and many more. The program pre-registers families in need of assistance at Christmas so that the children will be eligible for toys. • All volunteers will come to The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters. • check in at the volunteer station; they will guide you. food and snacks will be provided, but we’re welcome to bring our own food.

  3. About The Salvation Army • Money we raise during Christmas allows us to provide food, shelter, disaster relief and much more through our 28 local centers of operation. Last year, we served more than 234,000 people. • Schedule: • Monday, Dec. 16th from 7 AM-2 PM • Friday,December 20th from 7 AM-2 PM

Schedule • Monday Volunteer at Harbor Light Multi-Service Center: Prepare and Serve Meals • Tuesday Take phones calls, collect donations, data entry, and misc. tasks for the organization • Wednesday Take phones calls, collect donations, data entry, and misc. tasks for the organization • Thursday Volunteer at the Toy Drive: assist families in selecting gifts for their children. • Friday Volunteer at Harbor Light Multi-Service Center: Prepare and Serve Meals **ACTIVITIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON WHAT THE ORGANIZATION WANTS US TO DO**

  5. What to Bring • Closed toed shoes • Festive, but comfortable attire (long pants) • A meal (if you want but they will provide you with snacks and drinks). • Limit valuables - not a secure place to bring purses, cell phones, etc.

Where you’ll be staying: • GOOD NEWS ASSEMBLY CHURCH, St. Cloud, MN. • no showers, but they have a kitchen. • bring your own sleeping bags • for showers: local YMCA Shower Towel Program • their busiest during 4-7 A.M, so we’ll probably go in the evenings. • $1 per person per day (so for 5 days, it would be $5 total)

Minneapolis Institute of Arts • Hours: Closed on Mondays; Tuesdays - Sundays 10 AM - 5 PM • Extraordinary exhibitions (rembrandt to van gogh, monet to matisse, asian to african). • Tickets: $12 on weekdays/$14 on weekends • Minnehaha Falls/Park • Overlooking the Mississippi river • Attracts more than 85,000 people/year. • 53 foot waterfall, limestone bluffs, and river overlooks (pretty pretty) • Mall of America • 520 stores, 50 restaurants, and attraction galore including Mickelodeon Universe (nation’s largest indoor theme park), and the new American Girl store. • No sales tax on clothing or shoes. yipeee!
