Subscriptions with recurring billing • You can change how you pay for a Microsoft Accounts and Billing Number subscription with recurring billing any time unless your payment is past due. You can also easily cancel or turn off recurring billing for a Microsoft subscription. • Sign in to your Services and subscriptions with your Microsoft account. If you have more than one Microsoft account, make sure you're signing in with the one that applies to the subscription you want to change. If you're updating your child's subscription, make sure you sign in with their account, not yours. • Find the subscription in the list, and then select Change how you pay.

  3. If you don't see Change how you pay, it could be because recurring billing isn't turned on. You won't be able to change how you pay if recurring billing is off, because the subscription has already been paid and will end when its duration expires. • If you have a past-due balance, select pay now. Make sure you're signed in to the Microsoft account associated with the subscription that's past due.

Update your payment method: If your credit card, PayPal, or other online payment service has expired, update it with the new expiration date.  • Add a new payment method: If your payment option isn't valid or you want to change it, add a new way to pay. • Once your payment option is set, select Next to make the payment.

Change the payment method or credit card linked to your Microsoft account • Add a new payment method • If you want to change how you pay for purchases from Microsoft Store, you can change the payment method linked to your Microsoft account.  • Here’s how to add a credit card, debit card, bank account, PayPal account, or mobile phone as a new payment option for your Microsoft account: • Note: If you’re trying to add a payment option that's tied to a Microsoft subscription with recurring billing (such as Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, or Office 365), the old option can't be removed until you change how you pay for the subscription.

  8. Add a new payment option online • Sign in to the Payment options page with the Microsoft account to which you want to add the payment option. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help. • Select Add a payment option. • Select the type of payment option you want to add, and then select Next.

  9. Add a new payment option on an Xbox One console: • Sign in to an Xbox One console with the Microsoft account to which you want to add the payment option. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help. • Press the Xbox  button on your controller to open the guide. • Select System > Settings > Account > Payment & billing. • On the Payment options screen, select Add a payment option, and then choose the type of payment method you want to add. • Fill in the required fields and follow the instructions to set up your new payment option, and then select Save.

Update a current payment method If your name, billing address, expiration date, or CVV number has changed for your current payment method, here’s how you can update it: Note: If you’re trying to the update the info for a payment option that's tied to a Microsoft subscription with recurring billing (such as Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, or Office 365), you have to make those changes on the Services & subscriptions page.

Update payment option info online: • Sign in to the Payment options page with your Microsoft account. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help. • Find the payment option you want to update, and then select Edit info. • Enter your updated info, and then select Save.

  12. Update payment option on Xbox One: • Sign in to an Xbox one console with the Microsoft account to which you want to add the payment option. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help. • Press the Xbox  button on your controller to open the guide. • Select System  > Settings  > Account >Payment & billing. • On the Payment options screen, scroll right to the payment option you want to update, and then select Edit info. • Update your payment option details, and then select Save.

Remove a payment method If you have a payment method that you are no longer using or that has expired, here’s how to remove it: Note:If you’re trying to the remove a payment option that's tied to a Microsoft subscription with recurring billing (such as Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, or Office 365), it can't be removed until you change how you pay for the subscription.

  14. Remove a payment option online: • Sign in to the Payment options page with the Microsoft account that has the payment option you want to remove. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help. • Find the payment option you want to remove, and then select Remove. • Select Yes, remove to confirm that you want to remove the payment option.

  15. Remove a payment option on Xbox One: • Sign in to an Xbox One console with the Microsoft account from which you want to remove the payment option. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help. • Press the Xbox  button on your controller to open the guide. • Select System  > Settings  > Account > Payment & billing. • On the Payment options screen, scroll right to the payment option you want to remove, and then select Remove. • Select Yes, Remove to confirm payment option removal.
