  2. Every Year: All staff sign CF- FSP 5337(Dated October 2012) This is a good time to talk to staff about being a Mandatory Reporter of Suspected Abuse!

Is Child Abuse Training required every year? • NO, not every year. • DCF Child Care Licensing requires • All staff sign the CF-FSO 5337, so they are all informed about reporting suspected abuse at hire • It is in Part 1 of the 40 hour Child Care Training, so all center staff get trained in first year of working. • Head Start requires ALL staff to have had Child Abuse training, but not every year.

  6. CALL TO REPORT SUSPICION OF CHILD ABUSE • Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-96ABUSE • Local Police A report is a request for an investigation, not a proven fact. Under law, child care workers are mandatory reporters – with a legal obligation to report suspicion or knowledge of child abuse.

  7. Reporting Suspicion of Abuse • Fill out DCF report form to have all info ready • Call Hotline 1-800-96ABUSE • Call Gyla Wise and send her a copy of DCF report form
