  2. Goals • To train potential Leaders within Hettinger High School. • Not to focus on the great athletes. • Look for individual who are leaders that do not always possess great athletic skills. • Why are most captains the best players and not necessarily the best leaders. • Teach students how to become leaders – do not expect them to lead without us teaching them. • Have students teach learned behavior to our elementary students. • Give our elementary students a chance to see our team in action at events that they participate in.

  3. What we do • Meetings once a month – topic chosen by Leadership team or team leader. • Students are then grouped together to work on a lesson plan to teach elementary students. • ALT will then schedule times to teach lesson plans. (Grades 4-6) • After each lesson – elementary teachers provide feedback through evaluation forms. • ALT also provides feedback through self evaluation forms. • Elementary students will also be given a chance to sit on the bench at games or events of our team - They attend officials meeting, time outs as they hopefully witness sportsmanship as well as the in and outs of the game. • Posters – we are developing posters on anti-bullying, being yourself, sportsmanship, making good decisions, victory vs. competition.

  4. Selection Process • ALT Team Leader and Counselor selected our first team • Sophomores and Juniors to start • ALT Team will select incoming sophomores to add to next years team • Final decision will be made by team leader and counselor • Eventually we will have sophomores, juniors and seniors as the teams makeup
