  2. Oral exam = 2 random situations 6 exchanges @ 2 pts max ea.=12 point max per situation24 possible points • Example of a situation: • [Teacher initiates] I am a sales clerk in a store in (country) You want of buy your best friend a present for a special occasion… I will start the conversation

Part I: oral examsfor 2 points: • Comprehensible and appropriate • AND • Initiates and/or sustains and/or advances the conversation • Uses common verb tense forms (including, past, present, future) • Uses accurate structure • Is articulated comprehensibly • Uses a variety of vocabulary that may expand or clarify meaning • Is extended (may contain more than one short, discrete utterance) • Uses culturally correct gestures, social conventions, and/or idiomatic expression

  4. Part I oral exams1 point answers are: • Comprehensible and appropriate BUT Is a single, short, discrete utterance consisting exclusively of Checkpoint A vocabulary/structures OR Contains little or no evidence of Checkpoint B attributes (see Checkpoint B)

  5. Part I: Oral Exam 0 point answers =Incomprehensible AND/OR inappropriate • Yes/no response • Socializing device • Restatement of all or essential parts of what the teacher said • Proper nouns in isolation

(Comment puis-je vous aider?) how can I help you?
