  2. “A Servant of God” • Serve like Prodigal Son- Luke 15:18,19 • Psalm 123:1,2 - 1 Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us.”

  4. Life in Christ a Matter of Walking With God • Faithful Men Walking with God • Enoch – Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5 • Noah – Genesis 6:9 • Walking with God = friendship & close companionship

  5. Life in Christ a Matter of Walking With God • Requires Walking in His Truth • 1 John 1:5-7 • Zacharias & Elizabeth – Luke 1:5,6 • Psalm 86:11 “I will walk in Your truth” • Isaiah 2:3 “we will walk in His paths”

  6. Life in Christ a Matter of Walking With God • He is our Master & We are His Disciples • Disciple = learner, follower, one under discipline of another • We must live with the Master & adopt His manner of life & character – Matthew 28:19,20 • Not always easy – John 6:66

  7. We Walk With The Lord in Paths of Service • A life of Service- Matthew 20:25,26 • Acts 20:35 “more blessed to give” • Not Servitude but Master that makes slavery Degrading – Exodus 21:5,6 • Jesus a Servant – Luke 22:27 • Matthew 20:28; Galatians 6:2; 2Corinthians 12:15

We Walk With The Lord in Paths of Service • His service to us Great Example- John 13:1-17 NKJV 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 16 "Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.”

  9. Being a Disciple of Christ is an Opportunity & Privilege • 1 Timothy 1:12 • 1 Corinthians 15:9,10 • Discipleship is an entire way of life, not just one of our many “activities.” • When we Walk With The Lord, we come to Know Him- John 17:3
