Step 2: Join the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) To pursue the CFE certification, you need to become a member of the ACFE. Visit their official website and sign up for membership. As a member, you'll have access to valuable resources, networking opportunities, and exam preparation materials. Step 3: Study for the CFE Exam The CFE exam consists of four sections: Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes, Law, Investigation, and Fraud Prevention and Deterrence. The ACFE provides study materials, including textbooks, practice quizzes, and online review courses, to help you prepare for the exam. Dedicate sufficient time to studying each section thoroughly. Step 4: Apply for the CFE Exam Once you feel adequately prepared, you can apply for the CFE exam. The exam is conducted online and can be taken from the convenience of your own home or office. Submit your application through the ACFE website and pay the exam fees. After your application is approved, you will receive instructions on how to schedule the exam. Step 5: Take the CFE Exam The CFE exam is a multiple-choice computer-based exam. It consists of 500 questions, and you will have a time limit of 120 days to complete it.
